Red and Black Kit Colors

Red for fiery ardour, black for the fear of opponents: Milan's colours since the start.

Red and black are the colours that have represented AC Milan throughout its entire history. They were chosen by founder Herbert Kilpin to stand for the players' fiery ardour (red) and the opponents' fear of challenging the team (black).

Lore & Background

The colours give the club its best-known nickname, Rossoneri, which literally means "the red and blacks" in Italian, after the stripes on its jersey. Another nickname taken from the colours is the Devil, and an image of a red devil was used as Milan's logo at one point.
