Curva Sud

The San Siro's south stand, home of Milan's ultras since the late 1960s.

The Curva Sud is the south stand of the San Siro and the home of AC Milan's organised supporters. Milan's first ultras groups, Commandos Tigre (1967) and the Fossa dei Leoni (1968), were among the oldest in Italian football, and today the main ultras group is Brigate Rossonere.

Milan was historically supported by the city's working class, which earned the fans the Milanese nickname casciavid ("screwdrivers"), while Inter drew more from the middle class. The Curva Sud Milano has tried to keep politics out of football, often displaying the banner "ne rossi ne neri, solo rossoneri" - neither red nor black, only red-and-black. When the Fossa dei Leoni dissolved in 2005, former members founded Guerrieri Ultras Curva Sud Milano.
