Lore & Background
Bluestar's Prophecy tells how the leader, out on patrol with Whitestorm and her deputy Redtail, catches sight of a bright ginger house cat, recognizes him as the cat Spottedleaf's words mean, names him Firepaw and accepts him into ThunderClan. The same book gives Bluestar a prophecy of her own from her kithood: the medicine cat Goosefeather foresees that she will be a fire that blazes through the forest but will be destroyed by water. Both come true in A Dangerous Path. Bluestar throws herself at the leader of the dog pack to save Fireheart, goes over the gorge into the river, and before she dies tells him that he is the fire that saved her Clan. Fireheart then becomes Firestar. A second prophecy reaches him as he receives his nine lives: four will become two, lion and tiger will meet in battle, and blood will rule the forest.
