This unique tradition sets them apart from other Chapters, who typically adhere more strictly to standard Imperial dogma without such tribal customs. During the Horus Heresy, Leman Russ led his Legion with unwavering loyalty against the Traitor Legions. His leadership was instrumental in defending Terra during the final battles of the civil war. Today, the Chapter maintains a deep spiritual connection to their Primarch's spirit, referring to him as the Great Wolf who watches from the Warp. However, their gene-seed carries a genetic instability known as the Wulfen condition. Some Battle-Brothers slowly transform into feral beasts, losing their humanity to primal rage. This curse requires constant vigilance by Rune Priests and Chapter Masters to ensure that no corrupted warrior threatens the stability of the Chapter or the Imperium.
