Mortarion
The Death Guard's commander in the Horus Heresy.
Mortarion, of the Death Guard (the 14th Legion of Space Marines), sides with Horus in the Horus Heresy series. Horus enlists him, after he faces Jaghatai Khan in Scars, to help retrace the Emperor's steps. After his failed mission to persuade Jaghatai to join Horus, a weakened and frightened Mortarion rampages across the remnants of Magnus's domain. Late in the Siege of Terra a mutated Mortarion holds the Lion's Gate spaceport.
