The second season of Netflix's The Witcher consists of eight episodes and was released on December 17, 2021. It is based on "A Grain of Truth" from The Last Wish, Blood of Elves, and the beginning of Time of Contempt.

Traveling with Ciri, Geralt visits his friend Nivellen, who has been cursed into a beast, and then joins the remaining witchers at Kaer Morhen, where he agrees to train Ciri in combat. Triss arrives to help Ciri with magical training, and Geralt, Ciri and Triss find that the monsters they investigate are connected to monoliths. Meanwhile Yennefer, Fringilla and Francesca meet the Deathless Mother, later revealed as Voleth Meir, a demon that feeds on pain.

In the finale, Voleth Meir possesses Ciri and murders several witchers at Kaer Morhen, until Yennefer offers herself as a host and frees Ciri. Ciri teleports herself, Geralt and Yennefer to an unknown world, where Voleth Meir rejoins the Wild Hunt, who threaten to abduct Ciri before she teleports them back. The Northern monarchs put a bounty on Ciri. The season received positive reviews.
