Creatures Geralt refuses to kill, because they do not prey on humans.
Dragons appear in The Witcher among the creatures that, in Sapkowski's words, already "exist" with established names, appearances, habits and habitats. Although Geralt is a witcher, a professional monster slayer, he explains that he does not kill dragons, because they do not prey on humans.

In Sword of Destiny, Geralt meets the traveling knight Borch "Three Jackdaws" and joins a party hunting a green dragon. The party encounters a golden dragon, Villentretenmerth, who offers a fair battle to anyone who wishes to challenge him, and Borch turns out to be Villentretenmerth in human form. He explains that the green dragon, Myrgtabrakke, called him for assistance and left him her hatchling as payment, and admits that, unlike the rest of dragonkind, he likes humans. Yennefer wants to kill the dragon herself, as its viscera will supposedly cure her infertility.
Reader's Guide
In The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, Geralt discovers that the rebel leader Saskia is a dragon taking human form. In the Netflix series, Borch Three Jackdaws is portrayed by Ron Cook, who also voices his Villentretenmerth form.
