Background
He sets out with the archer Milva and his friend Dandelion, and along the way they join a group of dwarves led by Zoltan Chivay, who are shepherding refugees. The company is joined by Cahir, the "Black Rider" who had been shadowing them, and by Regis, a vampire with invaluable medical skills. Caught between the warring factions, they are drawn into the Battle for the Bridge on the Yaruga, where they save Queen Meve, who knights Geralt, making his title "of Rivia" official.
Meanwhile Ciri, under the alias "Falka", has settled into life with a party of young outlaws, the Rats. Three months after the collapse of the Brotherhood of Sorcerers, Philippa Eilhart gathers a group of sorceresses and proposes the founding of the Lodge of Sorceresses. The book's plot forms the basis of the fourth season of Netflix's The Witcher series.
