The prequel miniseries The Witcher: Blood Origin, set 1,200 years before the events of the television series, depicts the creation of the first Witcher as well as the events leading to the Conjunction of the Spheres: Syndril stops Balor by magical means, destroying the monolith and unleashing the Conjunction. In the Netflix series, the demon Voleth Meir, who feeds on pain, came to the Continent with the Conjunction of the Spheres.
