The Fae is a realm in The Kingkiller Chronicle that exists alongside the mortal world, a parallel universe of supernatural creatures. They can cross between the two realms only when the moon is full.

Bast, Kvothe's assistant, is a prince of the Fae. In The Wise Man's Fear Kvothe follows Felurian into her realm, where time runs differently, and meets the Cthaeh there. When he returns he finds that only three days have passed in the mortal world.
