Your Side of Town

Background and composition

The Killers announced "Your Side of Town" on social media on August 22, 2023. Frontman Brandon Flowers said he could hear Pet Shop Boys, New Order, and Depeche Mode in the song but felt he could take ownership of it, calling it a "beautiful collision" of influences from his teenage years in Las Vegas. The track was written by Flowers and Stuart Price, who had previously co-written songs for the band such as "Run for Cover" and "Fire in Bone." Production was handled by Price and Shawn Everett, who also produced the preceding single "Boy." The song is in the key of D♭ and has been performed live 32 times as of September 2025.

Music video

The music video for "Your Side of Town," directed by Tim Mattia, came out on October 5, 2023. It is entirely black-and-white except for the artist and song title at the beginning.

The video follows a showgirl walking through Las Vegas, with cuts to Brandon Flowers singing. It later reveals the showgirl is stalking and then kidnaps a young woman, whom she presumably murders. As of September 2025, the video has 1.1 million views on YouTube.

Reception

Critics gave "Your Side of Town" positive reviews. RSU Radio described it as loud and energetic, reminiscent of Daft Punk's "Instant Crush" and the Pet Shop Boys mixed with New Order. American Songwriter noted its darker, more layered electronic sound paired with the band's poetic lyricism. Vanyaland.com said the song leaned into the dramatic dancefloor side of the Killers' 1980s synth-pop influences.
