Rocinante

The salvaged Martian gunship at the heart of the series.

The Rocinante is a salvaged Martian naval gunship whose crew are the central characters of The Expanse. In Leviathan Wakes the Martian frigate on which the Canterbury survivors escape is renamed the Rocinante, with James Holden as captain and the former Martian navy pilot Alex Kamal at the helm. The series follows the ship and its crew over more than four decades of criminal plots, interplanetary wars and an alien mystery, from bringing down Protogen to the Siege of Laconia.
