Background

The daughter of Suiren, the Emperor's wet nurse, she was his only consort for over ten years and the one he genuinely loves. Her son was born at the same time as Empress Anshi's; denied proper care, she survived only because Luomen removed her womb. To protect her son she switched him with the Imperial Brother, so he was raised as the Emperor's younger brother: Jinshi. The switched infant later died after her head lady-in-waiting Fengming fed him honey. Unable to bear more children, she was forced out of her rank by Shishou, who replaced her with his daughter Loulan; after Fengming was executed for trying to poison Lishu, Ah-Duo left for the southern palace. After the Shi clan's fall she adopted the surviving Shi children.
