Mickey Mouse Mixed-Up Adventures, an animated Disney Junior series created by Rob LaDuca and Mark Seidenberg, followed Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. It began as Mickey and the Roadster Racers before changing its name for its third season. The show marked Russi Taylor's final television role.

Plot

Mickey Mouse Mixed-Up Adventures centers around the Sensational Six as they live and race in Hot Dog Hills and around the world. The show contains two 11-minute stories per episode. In the first half, Billy Beagle commentates on races. In the second half, Minnie and Daisy work as the Happy Helpers alongside Cuckoo-Loca, using the Turnstyler and Happy Helper Van to assist residents. In Season 2, the roadsters become Super-charged after modifications by Ludwig Von Drake. In Season 3, Mickey builds a mixed-up motor lab that transforms cars. The show uses a remix of the "Hot Dog" song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

Characters

Mickey Mouse, voiced by Bret Iwan, is the optimistic leader of the Roadster Racers and drives the Hot Doggin' Hot Rod. Minnie Mouse, voiced by Russi Taylor (2017–2021) and Kaitlyn Robrock (2020–2021), is Mickey's girlfriend and a Happy Helper, driving Pink Thunder. Donald Duck, voiced by Daniel Ross, is co-leader of the garage and drives the Cabin Cruiser; this is the only series where Donald is not voiced by Tony Anselmo. Daisy Duck, voiced by Tress MacNeille, is Donald's girlfriend and a Happy Helper, driving Snapdragon. Goofy, voiced by Bill Farmer, owns the Hot Diggity hot dog trailer and drives the Turbo Tubster. Pluto, with vocal effects by Bill Farmer, is Mickey's pet. Cuckoo-Loca, voiced by Nika Futterman, is a wind-up cuckoo who tags along with the Happy Helpers. Pete, voiced by Jim Cummings, is a tow truck driver and drives the Super Crusher. Clarabelle Cow, voiced by April Winchell, owns a baking business and operates racing flags. Clara Cluck, with vocal effects by Russi Taylor and Kaitlyn Robrock, is a farmer. Chip and Dale, voiced by Tress MacNeille and Corey Burton, are mechanics. Horace Horsecollar, voiced by Bill Farmer, appears in various alter egos.

Reception

Emily Ashby of Common Sense Media gave Mickey and the Roadster Racers three out of five stars, praising its community dynamics and friendship themes. Charles Curtis of USA Today ranked the show ninth in their "20 Best Shows for Kids Right Now" list in March 2020. Marisa Lascala of Good Housekeeping called it a "great toddler show." Kristin Smith of Plugged In complimented the lovable characters and their teamwork. The debut on January 15 achieved the No. 1 cable TV telecast in over a year among Kids 2–5 with 1.3 million viewers and an 8.0 rating. The premiere had 3.6 million total viewers. By March 2017, the series had reached more than 41 million US viewers since its January premiere.

Spin-offs: Short series and holiday specials

Chip 'n Dale's Nutty Tales, a spin-off short series, premiered on November 13, 2017, following Chip and Dale chasing a nut. Mickey Mouse Hot Diggity-Dog Tales premiered on October 14, 2019. Me & Mickey, a vlog-style short series, premiered on June 27, 2022. Holiday specials include Mickey's Tale of Two Witches (October 7, 2021), Mickey and Minnie Wish Upon a Christmas (December 2, 2021), and Mickey and the Very Many Christmases (December 1, 2024). Mickey's Home Alone is scheduled for 2026. Mickey Saves Christmas aired on November 27, 2022, as the first stop-motion Mickey Mouse project. Mickey and Friends: Trick or Treats premiered on October 1, 2023.
