The Doomies is an animated comedy horror television series created by director Andrés Fernandez, head writer Henry Gifford, and art director Rémi Zaarour. Produced by French animation studio Xilam in association with Disney Television Animation, the show follows best friends Bobby and Romy after they accidentally open a portal to the underworld in their coastal town. Media outlets have characterized the series as a spiritual successor to Gravity Falls.

Episodes
Andres Fernandez directed every episode of The Doomies. The shorts, which probably happen early in the season, follow Bobby and Romy as they record their monster-hunting adventures in Ouimper. They first appeared as Extras on Disney+, then were uploaded to Disney Channel Animation’s official YouTube channel. Other shorts show a character from a Disney property, usually a Disney Channel show, doing silly things at the request of the artist or animator.
Development
Disney first revealed The Doomies—originally called Bobby and Daria and the Creatures of Doom—at the 2022 Annecy International Animation Film Festival, where it was announced alongside Dragon Striker. A sneak peek came out before the series hosted a Work in Progress session at Annecy on June 12 at 11:30am. The show is a French co-production with Disney Television Animation, like Dragon Striker. Creator Andrés Fernandez named Ghostbusters and The Goonies as key influences and called it “[The] Evil Dead for kids.” On June 11, 2025, Xilam CEO Marc du Pontavice said Disney had “a lot of faith” in the project and that a second season might be in pre-production.
