Medic

Herbert Ludwig Humboldt, the Medi Gun healer with little regard for the Hippocratic Oath.

The Medic, full name Herbert Ludwig Humboldt, is one of the nine playable classes of Team Fortress 2, a German doctor with little regard for the Hippocratic Oath. The game shows him as a maniacal scientist with a morbid interest in human anatomy, for whom healing is a mere side effect of his experiments on his fellow mercenaries, though he has a softer side for his pet doves.

Reader's Guide

As a support class he heals teammates with the Medi Gun, a flexible beam that also fills an ÜberCharge meter; when full, it makes the Medic and his patient temporarily invulnerable. He also carries a Syringe Gun and a bone saw, and he is the only class that regenerates health on his own. His character description says he was raised in Stuttgart, while an update announcement names the fictional city of Rottenburg as his hometown.
