Exegol Map
The sole key to reaching the hidden planet Exegol and the resurrected Emperor.
The Sith wayfinder is a critical navigational artifact that leads directly to the hidden planet Exegol, where the resurrected Emperor Palpatine commands his fleet. In *Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker*, this device becomes the central objective for both Rey and Kylo Ren as they race to control the final stand against the First Order. Originally buried with a Sith assassin named Ochi on Pasaana, the wayfinder contains the specific coordinates required to bypass the treacherous hyperspace anomalies shielding Exegol from discovery. Without this artifact, even the most skilled pilots cannot reach the Sith stronghold, making it the only known path to Palpatine's hidden armada.

Lore & Background
To ensure their return remained secret, they created wayfinders capable of navigating the unique hyperspace routes leading there. One such device was entrusted to Ochi, a Sith assassin tasked with finding young Rey on Jakku after her parents hid her there. When Ochi failed to kill Rey and instead killed her parents, he took the wayfinder back to Pasaana, where he died. The artifact remained hidden in his ship until a year after the Battle of Crait, when Kylo Ren obtained it through a Force bond with Rey. This connection allowed Ren to travel directly to Exegol, revealing himself as the power behind Snoke and the First Order, while Palpatine unveiled an armada of Star Destroyers known as the Final Order.
In Their Own Story
Rey, Poe, Finn, Chewbacca, BB-8, and C-3PO departed in the Millennium Falcon to Pasaana, where a clue to the wayfinder was hidden. With Lando Calrissian's help, they found a dagger inscribed with Sith text that could not be translated by C-3PO due to his programming, along with the remains of Ochi and his ship. Rey sensed Kylo Ren nearby and confronted him while the First Order captured the Falcon, Chewbacca, and the dagger. Believing Chewbacca was dead after Rey accidentally destroyed a transport with Force lightning, the group departed on Ochi's ship. They traveled to Kijimi, where droidsmith Babu Frik extracted the wayfinder's coordinates from C-3PO's memory. Later, following these coordinates to a moon in the Endor system, Rey located the actual wayfinder in the wreckage of the second Death Star. Ren destroyed this device during their duel, but Rey later used the one from Ben Solo's ship to navigate to Exegol.
Reader's Guide
To locate Exegol, one must first acquire a Sith wayfinder containing its coordinates. The journey begins on Pasaana, where the initial clue—a dagger inscribed with Sith text—is found in Ochi's remains. Since C-3PO cannot translate this due to programming restrictions, the data must be extracted from his memory by a skilled droidsmith like Babu Frik on Kijimi. Once coordinates are obtained, travelers can follow them to a moon in the Endor system, where the physical wayfinder is hidden within the wreckage of the second Death Star. If this device is destroyed, as happened when Kylo Ren defeated Rey in a duel, an alternative path exists: using the wayfinder previously held by Ben Solo. With either artifact, pilots can navigate the treacherous hyperspace anomalies shielding Exegol, bypassing natural defense grids to reach the planet where Palpatine's Final Order awaits.
