Duty After School is a 2023 South Korean military sci-fi thriller dystopian teen drama television series created by Lee Nam-gyu, written by Yoon Soo and directed by Sung Yong-il. Based on a webtoon by Ha Il-kwon, it follows high school students conscripted as cadets to fight mysterious purple alien objects threatening Earth. The series stars an ensemble cast including Shin Hyun-soo, Lee Soon-won, Im Se-mi, and many others.

Synopsis
The senior students of Sungjin High School are conscripted to fight mysterious sphere-shaped creatures that have covered the sky, in exchange for extra credit on the CSAT. Using their university admissions as leverage, the students are trained in firearms and survival skills.
Cast
Shin Hyun-soo plays Lee Chun-ho, a lieutenant and platoon commander of Class 3–2 who initially is firm but grows to care deeply for the students. Lee Soon-won portrays Kim Won-bin, a sergeant and faithful assistant to Chun-ho, teased for looking older than his 21 years. Im Se-mi is Park Eun-young, the homeroom teacher prioritizing student safety. Kwon Eun-bin plays Yeon Bo-ra, a frank and hot-tempered student who bullies Ae-seol. Kim Ki-hae is Kim Chi-yeol, an introverted student with a crush on Na-ra. Kim Min-chul plays Do Soo-cheol, best friends with Woo-taek and also crushing on Na-ra. Kim So-hee is Lee Soon-yi, timid and soft-hearted. Kim Su-gyeom plays Kwon Il-ha, a troublemaker who bullies Yeong-hun and later Yeong-su. Kim Jung-lan is Park So-yoon. Moon Sang-min plays Wang Tae-man, the mood maker. Shin Myung-sung is Im Woo-taek, best friends with Soo-cheol. Shin Su-hyun plays Cha So-yeon, who has a crush on Chun-ho. Shin Hye-ji is Choi Yeon-ju, kind and altruistic. Ahn Da-eun plays Kim In-hye. Ahn Do-gyu is Kook Young-soo, a selfish student bullied by Il-ha. Yeo Joo-ha plays Kim Yu-jung, the class president. Oh Se-eun is Hong Jun-hee, a selfish complainer. Woo Min-gyu plays Kim Duk-joong, a military virtuoso. Yoon Jong-bin is Jo Jang-soo, the courageous vice-president. Lee Yeon plays No Ae-seol.
Production
Studio Dragon produced the series with director Sung Yong-il, who directed Class of Lies, and writer Lee Nam-gyu, who wrote The Light in Your Eyes. Production began with a goal of broadcasting in 2022. The series was scheduled as TVING original content, and Studio Dragon considered it as a possible Netflix original. Principal photography ran from August 2021 to March 2022.
