Sons of Anarchy season 4

The 14-episode fourth season of *Sons of Anarchy* aired on FX from September 6 to December 6, 2011. This is the only season of the series to run 14 episodes; all others have 13, making it the longest. The show, created by Kurt Sutter, follows an outlaw motorcycle club in the fictional Central Valley town of Charming, California. The narrative centers on Jackson "Jax" Teller (Charlie Hunnam), who begins the season as the club’s new president after previously serving as vice president, and who starts to question both the club and his own path.

The season premiere, titled "Out," was written by Sutter and became one of the highest-rated telecasts in FX history. The story picks up after the deaths of Agent Stahl and Jimmy O’Phelan. The imprisoned SAMCRO members are released from prison after 14 months and are met by Lieutenant Eli Roosevelt of the San Joaquin Sheriff's Department, the new law enforcement figure in Charming. They also learn that Hale has become mayor. U.S. Attorney Lincoln Potter enlists Roosevelt’s help to build a RICO case against the club.

Although the series is set in Northern California’s Central Valley, filming primarily took place at Occidental Studios Stage 5A in North Hollywood. The main sets there include the clubhouse, St. Thomas Hospital, and Jax’s house.
