Seattle

The city-state enclave where most of Shadowrun takes place.

Seattle is Shadowrun's main setting. After the Native American Nations took over much of the western United States and Canada, the Seattle Metroplex stayed under U.S. control by treaty as a city-state enclave, and most game material is set there and assumes campaigns will be too.

Reader's Guide

Organised-play missions have used the Seattle Metroplex alongside Denver, Manhattan, Chicago and Neo-Tokyo, and for Shadowrun, Sixth World they returned to Seattle with 24 missions set in 2081, just after the city declared independence from the UCAS. In the video games it is where Joshua goes to avenge his brother in the Sega Genesis game, where Shadowrun Returns' runner hunts the Emerald City Ripper, and where the hero of Shadowrun: Hong Kong grew up as an orphan with foster brother Duncan before Raymond Black adopted them.
