Background
Blairgowrie's most dominant period came between 1946 and 1969, when they racked up ten Currie Cups, eight Perthshire Junior League championships, and thirteen Perthshire Junior Cups. When the Perthshire, Angus, and Dundee leagues merged into the Midlands League, Blairgowrie became champions for three straight seasons: 1969–70, 1970–71, and 1971–72. They added a fourth title in 1974–75. The club's record attendance of 5,200 came during the 1958–59 Scottish Junior Cup quarter-final replay against Irvine Meadow, who went on to win the cup. In 2007–08, Blairgowrie won the SJFA East Region North Division with a game to spare, sealing it with a 6–1 home win over Downfield. Some 48 players have left Blairgowrie to become senior footballers, including Charlie Thomson, Kenny Cameron, and Lindsay Kydd.
