History

Nicknamed the B.U.'s, Bo'ness United were formed in 1945 when Bo'ness, a former Scottish Football League member from 1921 to 1932, merged with Junior club Bo'ness Cadora. The club won the Scottish Junior Cup in 1948, 1976 and 1984. After winning the 2009–10 East Region Super League, they entered the Scottish Cup, reaching the third round in consecutive seasons. United moved to the East of Scotland Football League in 2018.

Rivalries

Bo'ness United have a rivalry with Linlithgow Rose, whose town lies about three miles away. Both were successful and well-supported East Junior clubs and moved to the EoSFL at the same time in 2018. Bo'ness Athletic joined the Junior leagues in 2019 as an informal partner to Bo'ness United but switched to the East of Scotland leagues as a separate club two years later, raising concerns over a new competitor with similar names, badges and kit.
