Background
While setting up Christmas lights, Jerry falls off the roof; Rick zaps him with a ray that makes him lighter than air for ten hours and then makes his shoes heavier than air, leaving Jerry neutrally buoyant. Rick and Morty leave on an adventure, and while repairing their ship in space Morty is bitten by a snake astronaut, which he kills. Morty tries to atone by sending a pet-store snake to the race-war-ridden snake planet, but the snakes discover she is not from their world, unite and invent time travel, and snakes soon appear in growing numbers to attack or protect the Smiths. Rick and Morty travel to the Snake Pentagon and then to 1985 to leave a book of time-travel instructions at Snake MIT.
Meanwhile Jerry loses one of his shoes and floats away, refusing help from Rick and Beth. According to Nielsen Media Research the episode was seen by 1.32 million household viewers in the United States and received a 0.75 rating among adults 18-49.
