Golden Son is the second novel of Pierce Brown's Red Rising trilogy, published in 2015. It continues Darrow's plan to destroy the Society from within: two years after winning the Institute, the 20-year-old Darrow is a lancer of House Augustus and finishes second at the fleet-commanding Academy because of interference by the Sovereign Octavia and the Proctors. The novel debuted at number 6 on The New York Times Best Seller list and won the 2015 Goodreads Choice Award for Science Fiction.
