Bred by Fraser Auret at his Marton facility within the Rangitikei district of the Manawatū-Whanganui region, the horse carried a distinguished lineage. His dam, Missy Moo, was personally trained to five wins by Auret before being served by the Windsor Park Stud stallion Shamexpress.
