Demi-humans

Re:Zero's demi-humans, from Garfiel and Frederica to the Demi-human Revolt.

Several of Re:Zero's characters are demi-humans, among them Garfiel Tinzel, who guards the Sanctuary, and his half-sister Frederica Baumann, a maid in a mansion of Roswaal's relatives. Felix Argyle is a Beast Human hybrid, and the shinobi Halibel is a wolf human.

Demi-human Revolt, 40 years before the story

Lore & Background

Forty years before the story, the Demi-human Revolt (or War) was fought in Lugunica; Wilhelm van Astrea and the Sage Council member Bordeaux Zellgef fought in it, and Theresia van Astrea was one of the key figures who ended it. Half-breeds, especially half-elves like Emilia, face severe prejudice because of Satella's resemblance to them.
