The reserve team began as the second team of SSV Markranstädt, winning the Bezirksliga Leipzig in 2009–10 and returning to SSV Markranstädt. To avoid starting from the bottom, RB Leipzig partnered with ESV Delitzsch, purchasing its playing right for the Bezirksliga Leipzig, and again won promotion. The team later won the Sachsenliga in 2013–14 and the NOFV-Oberliga Süd in 2014–15, reaching the Regionalliga Nordost. After the 2016–17 season, the U23 team was disbanded, while U19 and U17 squads were kept. The women's team entered in 2016, initially planning a partnership with Leipziger FC 07, but competed independently after the partnership ended. The team won the Landesliga Sachsen in 2016–17 and the Regionalliga Nordost in 2019–20, and also won the Saxony Cup in 2018–19. Junior teams were acquired from FC Sachsen Leipzig in 2009. The B-junior team qualified for the Under 17 Bundesliga in 2011 and reached the German championship final in 2014, losing to Borussia Dortmund. The A-junior team qualified for the Under 19 Bundesliga in 2014 and won the Under 19 Bundesliga Nord/Nordost in 2014–15.
