On January 2, 1971, a crush on Stairway 13 at Ibrox Park claimed 66 lives during an Old Firm match against Celtic. In 1995, Rangers FC announced plans to commemorate these fans, culminating in the unveiling of a larger monument on the 30th anniversary of the tragedy in 2001. Situated at the corner of the Bill Struth Main Stand and the Copland Road Stand, this site honors the victims of that day alongside those lost in previous incidents.
