Reader's Guide
Other songs played at Ibrox include Roy Orbison's "Penny Arcade" and Tina Turner's "Simply the Best", which plays as the teams come out of the tunnel; Rangers adopted it after nine in a row in the 1990s, when a supporters' campaign pushed the single into the UK top ten. Chants heard at matches include "The Bouncy", "Derry's Walls", which recalls the siege of Derry in 1689, and "Every Other Saturday", written in the 1960s about Clyde shipyard workers heading to Ibrox after a Saturday morning shift.
The club used the song for the title of its 2007 Follow With Pride campaign against unacceptable behaviour at matches, and a Rangers fanzine, later an online message board, carries the same name. Some supporters sing alternative sectarian lyrics to the tune, which cost vice-chairman Donald Findlay his place on the board in 1999 after he was filmed singing them at a supporters' club event.
