Project E
Gehirn's project to create the Evangelion units, inherited by NERV.
Project E is the name Gehirn used for the project to create the Evangelion units. Also called the Adam Revival Project, it is one of NERV's three major projects, alongside the Human Instrumentality Project and the Adam Project, and the first of the three to begin.

Background
The Evangelions were built through Project E, which is presumed to be a plan to create a clone of Adam, the First Angel. When NERV succeeded Gehirn it inherited the project together with most of Gehirn's staff and the unfinished Evangelion units. The Evas were researched and developed at NERV Headquarters, where many of them were also built, and Ritsuko Akagi holds the title of Chief of Project E.
