Background
The Magician's Nephew was the sixth Narnia book published but is the first in the story's chronology. The film will be the fourth adaptation of the series, after the trilogy of films produced by Walden Media.
David McKenna stars as Digory Kirke and Beatrice Campbell as Polly Plummer, with Emma Mackey as Jadis, the future White Witch and last Queen of Charn, Carey Mulligan as Digory's mother Mabel Kirke and Daniel Craig as his uncle Andrew Ketterley. Meryl Streep and Ciarán Hinds are also in the cast.
After IMAX previews on February 10, 2027, it is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on February 12, outside France, and to stream on Netflix from April 2. It will be the first Netflix film to get a wide release in cinemas. Before Gerwig's film, The C. S. Lewis Company had planned an adaptation of The Silver Chair with The Mark Gordon Company.
