Lore & Background

Waxillium Ladrian, head of House Ladrian, is a special constable and detective who once served as a lawman of the roughs before becoming a senator. He is a Twinborn, wielding the Allomantic ability to Push metals and the Feruchemical ability to increase or decrease his weight. Six years after the events of The Bands of Mourning, Wax has retired from his lawman career and is now a prominent figure in Elendel politics, known as the 'Lawman Senator of the Roughs'.

He lives with his wife Steris and their two young children, Maxillium and Tindwyl. Despite Wax's and Steris' efforts to ease tensions between Elendel and its neighboring cities in the Basin, as well as between the north and the Southern Scadrial nation of the Malwish Consortium, conflict escalates. Wax and his best friend Wayne go to confront Wax's sister Telsin, the leader of the Set, at the Set's base, killing several Set members. They discover the bomb is on a ship headed for the city.

Wax reaches the boat with Wayne, and the duo discover the bomb can be defused, but the defuser will die. Wayne sacrifices himself to defuse the bomb and save Wax. In the aftermath, Wax lives happily with Steris and his children.
