Lore & Background

Marasi is introduced as a university student studying law, with a noted passion for statistics. She is the illegitimate daughter of Lord Jackstom Harms, making her the half-sister of Steris Harms. Her admiration for Wax and Wayne's exploits in the Roughs leads her to accompany them during their investigation of the Vanishers. Her Allomantic ability allows her to create speed bubbles that slow time inside the bubble while time flows normally outside—a power she is mostly embarrassed by, considering it useless. During the final confrontation at the Vanishers' hideout, Marasi uses this ability to slow time inside a speed bubble, distracting Miles Dagouter long enough for Wayne to fetch law officers to subdue and capture him. After the battle, Marasi is approached by Ironeyes (Marsh), now revered as Death himself, and is given a mysterious book.

Reader's Guide

Marasi is a supporting character in The Alloy of Law, defined by her intelligence and legal studies. She becomes a fan of Wax and Wayne after hearing of their deeds in the Roughs and joins their investigation into the Vanishers. Her Allomantic ability—creating speed bubbles that slow time inside—is initially a source of embarrassment for her, as she sees it as useless. However, this power proves crucial during the final battle: she uses it to slow time inside a bubble, distracting Miles Dagouter long enough for Wayne to summon law officers. After the rescue of Steris, Marasi is given a mysterious book by Ironeyes (Marsh). Her role is that of a capable, if initially self-doubting, ally who contributes both her knowledge and her unique Allomantic talent to the team's success.
