Lore & Background
Set within the fictional U.S. city of Lost Heaven, Illinois, during the final years of Prohibition in the 1930s. The city is divided into three boroughs by the West and East River: West Side, Central Island, and East Side. The game's main story involves two major mafia families—the Salieri family and the Morello family—who fight for control over the city's rackets. The plot follows Tommy Angelo from 1930 to 1938 as he becomes involved with the Salieri crime family, eventually leading to his betrayal and the murder of his friends.
In Their Own Story
The rain hammers the cobblestones outside the Salieri bar, a neon sign buzzing in the wet dark. Tommy Angelo, still smelling of taxi leather and cheap cologne, watches a black sedan pull up. Paulie leans out, grinning. 'Get in, kid. We got a job.' Tommy knows he should say no, but the money is good, and the city doesn't care about honest men. He slides into the passenger seat, the engine rumbling like a promise he can't break. Lost Heaven swallows them whole.
