How the Lost Heaven police react to the player in Mafia.
In Mafia, the Lost Heaven police enforce the law around the player. Minor offences such as speeding or running a red light get the player booked and, in Freeride, fined; serious offences such as assault or openly showing a weapon can lead to arrest.
Lore & Background
The response grows with how far the player breaks the law: at the top end, armed officers set up roadblocks with tire spike strips and shoot from behind their cars. Finishing the story unlocks Freeride Extreme, a mode without police patrols.
