Ergo
The mineral that powers Krat, and something more.
Sentient puppets have an awakened "Ego" that allows them to bypass the Covenant's restrictions.[1] Rare Ergos can be traded to the character Alidoro for special weapons and amulets.[2] In "Lies of P", Rare Ergos, which are a type of Ergo Fragment, are obtained as rewards from defeating main bosses.[2]
How it changed
Geppetto added a secret directive into the Covenant giving him nearly-unlimited control of most puppets.[1] Puppets whose "Ego" awakened became sentient and could bypass the Covenant's restrictions.[1] These sentient puppets can be nearly-identical revived versions of dead humans who turned into the Ergo powering them.[1] The protagonist P is the revived puppet of Carlo, Geppetto's son.[1]
The King of Puppets was the revived puppet of Romeo, Carlo's best friend.[1] Until his death, the King of Puppets had been trying to warn P of Geppetto's deception.[1] A post-credits scene reveals that Giangio is actually Philippus Paracelsus, a crafty deceiver.[3] On a rooftop in Krat, an individual performs three clicks of their shoe heels.[3]
What the maker and period sources say
A 2023 walkthrough by El Ouardighi explains that Rare Ergos are rewards from defeating main bosses in "Lies of P".[2] The walkthrough states that Rare Ergos have greater potential than ordinary Ergo Fragments and should not be consumed immediately.[2] Alidoro's shop allows players to trade Rare Ergos for special weapons and amulets.[2] The walkthrough notes that players encounter Alidoro after reaching Hotel Krat.[2]
The man posing as the treasure hunter Alidoro is an impostor who killed the original.[1]
