Warrior of the Lost World

David Worth wrote and directed the movie, which features Robert Ginty, Persis Khambatta, and Donald Pleasence. For VHS and television releases, it was given another Italian title: *I predatori dell’anno Omega* (“Raiders of the Omega Year”). The story follows the Rider, who arrives on a high-tech motorcycle with an artificial intelligence computer named Einstein. After crashing, he gets through a “wall of illusion” and is healed by the Enlightened Elders. They choose him to lead the fight against the evil Omega regime, an Orwellian state run by the villainous Prossor. The Elders are allied with a resistance group called the Outsiders. The Rider helps Nastasia and the Outsiders by rescuing her father, McWayne, the group’s leader. Though the Rider and McWayne escape, Nastasia is captured and brainwashed by Prossor. The Rider wins over various Marginals—including Amazons, martial artists, truckers, punks, soldiers, and Omega defectors—by winning a ritual brawl that proves who is the strongest. He and the Outsiders then launch a final assault on Prossor’s regime, but they are intercepted by Omega forces and a giant armored truck called Megaweapon. The rebels destroy Omega patrols using their cars (Ford Taunus TCs), helicopters, and tankers. The Rider short-circuits Megaweapon to destroy it, but his supersonic speedcycle is crushed under the truck’s wheels. The Rider and McWayne storm Prossor’s headquarters, where they face the dictator and a brainwashed Nastasia. She wounds the Rider, but when ordered to kill her father, she rebels and shoots Prossor instead. The Omega are overthrown, and the Outsiders and Marginals celebrate as the Rider prepares to leave on his repaired speedcycle. In a twist, the man Nastasia shot turns out to be a cyborg clone. The real Prossor is still alive, flying away with an unnamed traitor of the New Way, plotting revenge against the “animals” who defeated him.
