Willie Scott

Wilhelmina "Willie" Scott, played by Kate Capshaw, is an American nightclub singer working at Club Obi Wan in 1935 Shanghai who is caught up in Indiana Jones's adventures in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and becomes his love interest. She flees Shanghai with Jones and his young sidekick Short Round on a plane owned by the gangster Lao Che, her employer. Under the trance of the Thuggee high priest Mola Ram, Jones prepares Willie for sacrifice, until Short Round frees him and he rescues her. Spielberg wanted Willie to be a complete contrast to Marion Ravenwood, so Capshaw dyed her brown hair blonde for the part, and the character was named after Spielberg's dog.
