The Cards

Virtual baseball cards formed the core of Baseball Boss, as a player's collection determined team rosters. Each card represented a real baseball player in a given year, with ratings and abilities based on that player's historical statistics. Cards were assigned a rarity tier from 1 (most common) to 7 (rarest), each with a corresponding color: Tier 1 grey, Tier 2 white, Tier 3 green, Tier 4 blue, Tier 5 purple, Tier 6 orange, and Tier 7 red. Two card brands existed: National and Spire. Tier 6 and 7 cards were exclusive to the Spire brand.

Game Currencies

Baseball Boss used two currencies. Challenge Coins were the virtual currency of Challenge Online Games, purchasable with real money and exchangeable for tickets within Baseball Boss. Tickets served as the official in-game currency, generated through gameplay and milestones, and were used to buy card packs and other items from the Card Store.
