Gameplay

Bless Online takes place in a fantasy realm where a ten-year war rages between two nations, Hieron and Unión. The world is split into various climate zones. A player’s chosen race decides which faction they join, and they also pick a class. To boost their faction’s strength, players can take part in PvP castle sieges; victories unlock new quests and resources. Role-playing events tied to faction and race help advance character progress. Hieron’s playable humanoid races are the Habichts, Sylvan Elves, Lufus, Fedayin, and Mascu. Unión offers the Amistad, Aqua Elves, Pantera, Iblis, and Sirens.

Development

Bless was initially announced as BLESS in 2011 and developed with Unreal Engine 3. The western version was cancelled by publisher Aeria Games in 2017, prompting Neowiz to self-publish. In July 2017, Neowiz announced a Rebuild Project to address game components. Two mobile games based on the IP were announced, one using Unreal Engine 4. As of October 2017, Neowiz was still assessing in-game monetization. The first closed beta in South Korea began in 2014; open beta was available there from August 2017. Japanese closed beta began in April and proceeded in October 2017. An open beta on Russian servers ran from December 2016 to May 2017 before shutting down due to lack of traction. The last Korean server closed on November 19, 2018.
