The original club in Litoměřice began in 1949 as Radobýl Litoměřice, later renamed VTJ Dukla Litoměřice in 1957. It played two seasons in the top-tier First Czechoslovak National League (1961–62 and 1963–64), but was relegated both times. The team spent nearly two decades in the Second League before declining in the late 1980s and eventually folding after the fall of the Iron Curtain.

The modern HC Stadion Litoměřice was founded in 2007, purchasing a Czech 2. Liga license. In just three seasons, they won the league championship in 2009–10 and were promoted to the Czech 1. Liga. Their first season in the higher league saw them finish 13th out of 16, narrowly missing the playoffs, which was considered a success as the primary goal was to avoid relegation.

In 2012, the team became an affiliate of Extraliga club HC Sparta Praha, a partnership that lasted until 2015. That same year, they became an affiliate of Mountfield HK. The team also briefly worked with KHL club Lev Praha. Their most successful 1. Liga season was 2013–14, when they finished seventh and qualified for the playoffs for the first time, losing in the semifinals to HC Olomouc.
