Lore & Background
Every prince takes part, even the newborn Marayam. Each is given a royal armed guard by the first prince, Benjamin, who as Deputy Military Adviser can assign his own men; some also receive guards from Zhang Lei. Kurapika is aboard as bodyguard to Prince Woble and seeks to recover the Kurta clan's stolen scarlet eyes from Prince Tserriednich.
Momoze is the first prince to die, strangled in her sleep by one of her own guards after her mother Sevanti reassigns part of her protection, including Hanzo, to Marayam. Halkenburg tells his father he will not take part, but learns that the only way to end the war is to win it; later his body is poisoned by Balsamilco Might, one of Benjamin's men, and he temporarily possesses Balsamilco as part of his plan. Fugetsu's sister persuades her that they should work together and enlists Melody's help in an escape plan.
