Lore & Background
Pariston Hill rose to prominence as the Vice Chairman of the Hunter Association, where his charismatic yet duplicitous nature made him a formidable political player. He is known for orchestrating complex schemes, often clashing with the Chairman and other Zodiacs. His true motives remain ambiguous, and he has no known connection to Kukuroo Mountain, Meteor City, or the Zoldyck family.
Reader's Guide
Pariston Hill serves as the physical manifestation of the Zoldyck family's values: isolation, tradition, and lethal efficiency. By situating their home on a remote island, the family ensures that their brutal upbringing methods remain hidden from the outside world, protecting them from legal repercussions or moral judgment. The island's geography is not merely scenic but functional, providing endless terrain for the rigorous physical training required to become an elite assassin. Every forest path and mountain ridge has likely been used as a battlefield or obstacle course for generations of Zoldycks. Understanding Pariston Hill is key to understanding Killua Zoldyck's character arc. His journey begins with escaping this very place, symbolizing his rejection of the family's cold pragmatism in favor of human connection and friendship. The island represents the 'before' state of his life.
