Meruem's Royal Guard
Neferpitou, Shaiapouf and Menthuthuyoupi, the three elite ants who protect the royal caste.
The Royal Guards are a trio of elite Chimera Ants whose task is to protect ants of the royal caste. They are Neferpitou, Shaiapouf and Menthuthuyoupi, and they accompany Meruem when he leaves the N.G.L. and takes over the Republic of East Gorteau.
Lore & Background
Neferpitou, called Pitou, is a cat-like Chimera Ant and the first-born of the guards. Shortly after birth Pitou senses the hiding Hunter Pokkle and prods his brain to extract everything he knows about Nen before he is killed. In East Gorteau, Pitou manipulates the corpse of the dictator Ming Jol-ik to call a national rally so that Nen users can be sorted out as food, and uses manipulation to form an army of controlled soldiers. Shaiapouf is wholly devoted to the King and sees humans as inferior, so he is disturbed by Meruem's attachment to Komugi and makes attempts on her life.
During the Hunter Association's raid on the palace, Pitou heals Komugi after Zeno's attack and later exploits Gon's hope that Kite is still alive to lure him away from the girl. Gon kills Pitou at the cost of his own body. After Netero's bomb leaves Meruem near death, the King regenerates by feeding on the cells of Pouf and Youpi, acquiring their abilities.
