The Siege of Terra
The final assault on the Emperor's world that closes the Heresy.
The Siege of Terra is the climax of the Horus Heresy, told in its own run of novels (Books 55 to 65). It opens with a colossal void war between the traitors and loyalists in the Solar System, as Horus must break through Dorn's walls across its planets and moons to reach Terra.
Lore & Background
The hosts of the Warmaster unite at Ullanor before it begins. As the Imperial Palace's defences weaken, Jaghatai Khan tries to retake the Lion's Gate spaceport from Mortarion, Angron spearheads the traitor assault, and the defence falls to Sanguinius, who is fated to die. With the death of Horus the Warp around Terra dissipates; the Emperor is installed in the Golden Throne and the Traitor Legions flee.
