The Great Crusade
The Emperor's campaign to reunite humanity's scattered colonies.
The Great Crusade is the interstellar crusade, originating from Terra, that claims the galaxy as the rightful domain of humankind and aims to reunite the scattered human colonies left from earlier space exploration under an "Imperium of Man". Early in the 31st millennium the galaxy is in its throes.
Lore & Background
The series opener, Horus Rising, begins during its 203rd year. The Primarchs and their Legions lead it - the Iron Warriors, for example, are its renowned siege masters - and stories such as The Wolf of Ash and Fire show Horus and the Emperor fighting side by side at its height, before Horus's rebellion splits the Legions.
