Awareness of the Chaos Gods underlies many faiths in the setting, human and alien, and their knowing followers call their faith the Primordial Truth. The Emperor himself once made a bargain with them for power and knowledge. In the Heresy they claim Legions and Primarchs: the Emperor's Children become the Chosen of Slaanesh, Angron is targeted by an Eldar assassination force before he can become a Daemon Prince of Khorne, and Mortarion swears loyalty to Nurgle.
