Boris Kulagin
Soviet ice hockey player and national team coach.
Boris Pavlovich Kulagin (December 31, 1924 – January 25, 1988) was a Soviet and Russian ice hockey player and coach. He was among the first players in the Soviet Union to play organized ice hockey in the 1940s, having previously played bandy. After a career-ending leg injury, Kulagin became a coach. He served as assistant coach to Anatoly Tarasov at HC CSKA Moscow and later as assistant on the national team. Kulagin was head coach of the Soviet Wings and then national team coach, leading the Soviet Union in the 1974 Summit Series against a WHA-based Team Canada.
