Mirror of Erised

The Hogwarts mirror that shows your heart's desire.

The Mirror of Erised was a magical mirror that, in Albus Dumbledore's words, showed the "deepest, most desperate desire of our hearts". Its name is "desire" spelled backwards, as if seen in a mirror, and the inscription on its frame, read backwards, says "I show not your face but your heart's desire". Only the happiest person in the world would see a plain reflection of themselves in it. The mirror belonged to Hogwarts: it stood in the Room of Requirement in 1927, in a disused classroom in 1991 and in the castle's underground chambers in 1992.
