Triwizard Tournament

The Triwizard Tournament was a contest of magic between the three largest wizarding schools in Europe: Hogwarts, Durmstrang and Beauxbatons, each represented by one champion. The champions faced three dangerous tasks that tested magical ability, intelligence and courage, competing for the Triwizard Cup, prize money and glory. First held around the late 13th century, it was stopped some time after 1792 because so many champions had died. It was revived in 1994 with a minimum age of 17, but that tournament had four champions instead of three and ended with the death of Cedric Diggory and the return of Lord Voldemort. No tournament has been held since.
